Fundraiser for Cumberland Gap Volunteer Fire Department
Donation protected
The Cumberland Gap Volunteer Fire Department needs your help! We are pursuing a grant for a new firetruck, but the grant requires applying VFD’s to cover a portion of costs, referred to as the “local match.” As a small town of less than 500 people, raising funds for the local match is extremely difficult if not impossible without your help. Please consider giving what you can so we can help keep our Historic Town, the National Park, and Claiborne County as safe as possible.
The Cumberland Gap Volunteer Fire Department is made up of approximately 25 volunteers, all of whom are LMU college students, and we are the only VFD in the State of Tennessee that can make this claim. Our firefighter program teaches invaluable lifesaving skills that participants can take with them to the communities across Tennessee and the country in which they settle after completing their studies at LMU.
In the event the VFD’s application is not funded, all money raised will go toward upgrading equipment needed to support the fire fighters.
