Love for Chet and Captain Jack
Spende geschützt
Friends, Family, The World....I've never done anything like this before, so please bear with me.
My wonderful partner in life, Chet Hogue, Jr. lost everything in a house fire yesterday. Thankfully, he is ok, but his beloved parrot, Captain Jack sustained severe injuries from smoke and chemical inhalation and we are praying he makes it. These 2 mean the world to me. Chet has changed my life with his kindness, huge heart and strong love for me, my kids and my dog, Boomer. Chet is one of a kind. In his life, he has been many things to many people. He has an amazing son who is now a grown man who embodies the same strong values as his Dad. He is a veteran, who served in the Army, twice. While in the Army, he was a trauma nurse among many other things. He also fell in love with skydiving, which he learned in the Army, which he continued to enjoy until his accident you will read about below. He was a volunteer fire fighter in Pittsburgh. He put himself through college. He is the definition of a self-made man. He suffered a permanent injury when his neck was broken after being rear ended by a girl texting while driving. He chose not to take pain medicine at all and still does not, even though he lives with pain every day. He rarely complains and always looks for the bright side. This incident ended many things for him. His successful career and skydiving, among other things. He rebuilt his life in the Florida Keys, when the cold weather up North became too much for his injury to bear. He became a charter boat captain and has provided many hundreds of people experiences of a lifetime, fishing and sightseeing around the Keys. He has suffered and lived like a lot of us, but I'm here to try and help HIM now. He has helped so many others and never asked for anything in return.
If you feel it in your heart, please consider donating. It will be used right away to replace the items lost in the fire and rebuild, as well as pay for Captain Jack's vet bills that will continue to rise as he improves. ..which we pray for.
Chet and I have a suprisingly successful long distance relationship....one that we treasure. I feel helpless being so far away from him and this is the best way I can think of to assist immediately. I set a goal of $10,000.00 . Of course any amount or anything will help. Food, clothing, shelter and vet care are the immediate priorities....not in any order, really...they are all equally important.
We appreciate your kindness and love.
Thank you for anything and everything. It means more than you know.
