Cyd Starr
Donation protected
Our warrior friend Cyd has been battling cervical cancer since early 2020. It started out very small and seemed to be easily curable. By the end of the year it had spread to some lymph nodes. In 2021, YOU ALL HELPED HER TAKE ACTION!!! She went to MD Anderson, the best cancer clinic in the country. As well, you all helped her get the vitamins and nutrition needed to build up her system. Late summer 2021, the doc said cancer had been shrinking and was no longer in the lymph nodes. We were all so happy and grateful. Early Winter, the chemo seemed to be becoming less effective so We pivoted to immunotherapy (the next best thing) immediately. Unfortunately, since then, we have endured a variety of setbacks as the cancer has become more and more aggressive. At this time, Cyd has chosen to move into hospice to rest and be comfortable.
We want to give you all an update on the gofundme. It was originally started to help Cyd with treatment and medical expenses. It worked, thank you all so very much. Over the past year she was able to start a new treatment plan in Houston and ultimately live a richer life for a while longer. As a community we raised enough money to support her medical and travel expenses but during the past year the majority of donations have been used. Currently the family needs help with preparing for afterlife expenses. So moving forward the donations will help the family pay for the burden of these expenses. Any donation during this difficult time would help the family so much and it would really ease Cyd's mind.
Cyd is a warrior and the brightest Starr in the galaxy. We as a community love this woman and the presence she brings to our lives. I am speaking for so many because it is true - she lights up any room and has the best giggles in the whole world. She is beyond grateful for the support and love during this journey. Please help and support her and her family during this very difficult time.
