
Curator's Antstravaganza: Celebrating 15 Years of TESD!

Curator here! I am putting on this anthill gathering as a way for us ants to get together and celebrate 15 years of the world's greatest podcast: Tell 'Em Steve Dave!
After announcing the idea of a 15 year anniversary ant gathering last year, the response has been much greater than I expected and needs to scale up beyond what I can finance on my own. To make sure this event lives up to what the ants deserve, I am opening up this GoFundMe so that as a community we can come together and make this an event for the record books!
I know some people may be asking "Why not just charge a ticket price?" and after a lot of deliberation, I simply couldn't accept the idea of saying "If you want to attend this ant gathering you have to pay" just didn't sit right with me, and also it would be very hard to ensure no profit is made that way since the number of attendees may vary.
The budget for the event is detailed below as immaculately as possible. Neither I, nor anyone else involved in the planning of this event, will be profiting in any way from this. Every penny collected goes straight into the event.
Budget details:
$750 for the VFW hall rental
- This will be the primary location for the event. It's a 4 hour reservation where we will have TESD Team Trivia, Costumes, 4 Color Demons, Games, Prizes, and more!
$1,000 to rent out a theater at SModcastle Cinemas for 3 hours.
- Here we will be putting up TESD on the big screen! We will be watching either a classic TESD release like TESD TV, Elephants In The Room, and Puppet Theater or possibly some unaired piece of TESD content.
- Catering for SModcastle Cinemas will be provided by Julio's Pizza Co. The food will be around $10 per person, dependent on how many people want food, and will be collected individually. Doing this will help to ensure we get the food quantity correct, and keeps the crowd funding budget down. Only people who want to partake in catering will pay for it.
$280 for Patches
- Currently there are around 150 RSVPs so I'm aiming at 200 3x3 patches so we can ensure everyone that attends gets one.
$50 for Magnets
- I have a Cricut machine I can make custom magnets on, this price is for supplies: magnetic sheets and printable vinyl.
The total budget sits right at $2,080, minus my own investment of the first $200, means we will need to collect $1,880 total. I'm setting the cap at $2,000 to cover the fees that GoFundMe takes, and if there's anything left over that will go into buying more prizes / goodies for the event.
