Cure Street Dogs of Mange
Donation protected
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe. The goal of helping 1000 more dogs has been surpassed by an extra 600 dogs treated, bringing the total treated to over 2850 dogs cured of severe skin problems.
I've also spent a lot of my own money on medicines to get this far and am at a point where the hope is to collect the full initial goal of this GoFundme to continue helping many more dogs.
It's by far the most efficient and effective way to actually improve the standard of living for Bali's street dogs and educate the population. Many tens of thousands of people in Bali now know how to give the most basic first aid care(OTC skin medicine, deworming tablets, coconut oil) to their local street dogs thanks to widespread FB Posts and I have personally educated thousands of people. I cannot continue to be so effective without the medicines as that opens the door to help many more and have discussions with dog owners, caring neighbours and tourists.
What has been done is exponentially more effective than any dog charity you can find, go check, that's why they don't publish statistics. It also has the lasting effect of raising the standard of welfare and stopping the spread of skin parasites. And many other actioned benefits too numerous to mention here(education on basic nutrition, giving info on free sterilisation & Rabies vax, hygiene, chopping off tight collars, ingrowing nails, disease control, preventing dumping of dogs etc etc.)
Here's a brief overview of the main actions so far:
2850 plus dogs treated for skin problems and dewormed documented on FB.
Medicine to treat at least 300 more for skin problems and deworming provided to 3 local rescuers who cannot afford it.
Many hundreds more dogs just dewormed, that medicine is cheap so I don't bother keeping count.
20 plus dogs rehomed
20 plus dogs fully vaccinated and sterilised.
10 plus life, limb & sight saving veterinary visits/operations.
20 plus dogs freed from a life in a cage or on a chain.
50 plus street dogs fed daily on a regular basis for more than 2 years.
And I've helped several local rescuers with many other sterilisations, dog food, emergencies and adoptions than listed here.
Because I also contribute financially and use only the very best practices in helping street dogs that means there is a clear incentive to be efficient helping the dogs by necessity. I'm not buying properties, writing books, posting sob stories on SM looking for large donations, collecting street dogs off the street for a boring overcrowded shelter life, (street dogs hate confinement). There is no organisation paying for trips abroad, salaries, administration, buying vehicles and advertising to get more money for unspecified actions that have no direct benefit to street dogs. It's just a hobby done with common sense to help where it's needed and always done with the dog's best interest at heart.
It is also simple and safe to reproduce so it has encouraged many people to start doing the same thing at whatever scale is right for them. Rather than collecting revenue this is about helping dogs and educating the community so that there is a lasting, widespread and tangible benefit.
So if you would like to pay for some skin medicine so that the standard of welfare for Bali dogs can continue to be improved that would be awesome and very much appreciated and go only on medicine given where it is most needed. The cost so far as about 4 times what I have collected from this Gofundme which is fine, I love doing it. I benefit enormously but not in any way financially. My point is that not a single cent of any donation here is wasted or used for any other expense, just to buy essential medicine and so the return on a donation is simply unbeatable and unmatched by any dog rescue initiative worldwide I am aware of. Many thanks for your help making this possible and allowing me to continue to help
