Cure for Amanda Larson

Donation protected
If you've ever met Amanda Larson, you know her to be a happy, bubbly, social butterfly who is kind to everyone she meets.  She is a Delano High alumni, and is a single mom who has dedicated her life to her three loving and energetic boys, Mason (12), Logan (10), and Bennett (7), who also go to Delano Schools.  Amanda is from Delano, Mn where she was very active in her community.  Amanda and I have been friends since 7th grade when she moved to Delano.

On Mother's Day weekend 2020, Amanda started having lower abdomen pain.
She went to the doctor a few days later and they discovered a large lump.  On May 19th, Amanda had a hysterectomy and received the devastating news that she has stage 3C small cell carcinoma of the ovary of the hypercalcemic type, which is a rare, malignant and highly aggressive tumor usually found in young females.

Amanda has received two rounds of chemotherapy over the past six weeks. On July 27th, her PET scan came back to show the treatment is not working and unfortunately, her cancer is progressing.  Her doctors at MN Oncology have agreed that at this point, she must go to the Mayo Clinic for more aggressive treatment.

Amanda will be going from two chemo drugs per treatment to six, and will have to be inpatient for 4-5 days in Rochester--two hours away from her boys--for every treatment.  The doctors are recommending 4-6 rounds every 24 days, and will then re-evaluate.

Amanda is a talented and beloved hairstylist who already lost work this spring when salons shut down due to Coronavirus.   She is again unable to work, but now it's due to her compromised immune system, extreme pain and the side effects of the chemo treatments.

Up until this point, Amanda has chosen to keep her health issues off of social media.  She isn't one to ask for help, but as her friends and family have watched her quietly struggle with her health, we want her to know she is not alone in this fight for her life.

Please join us in donating to Amanda and her boys to help alleviate some of the financial burden that comes along with being diagnosed with a life-threatening disease.  All the funds will help her boys in their future, and Amanda's mom Kim Larson will be taking over all these funds to insure that her boys will get the funds that they need.
