Cure for Dillon Garrett
As most of you know, Dillon (Bo) is getting close to transplant day (Stem Cells), March 29th will be his "new" birthday. It seems like an eternity to get this this point. A lot has happened in the last 8 months, from leaving to join the Army, to finding out he has Acute Myloid Leukemia (AML), the Army releasing him, and in February he had a rare blood infection that tried to take his life, But we have finally made it. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! Now, we have the issue when Dillon is released from the hospital he has to stay within 60 minutes of the Mayo Clinic with a 24 hour care giver. The hospital has options we have looked into, however the waiting list are extremely long. We have family that live in the area, but they have toddlers, and Dillons doctor is not ok with that, although they are cute, they carry lots of germs. So with that being said, we have been checking out long term clean hotels and the prices are crazy, even the ones that offer discounts for Mayo patients. We will remain on the waiting list for the hospital housing, but what has seemed like forever is now upon us. Please know that our family will be forever greatfull for any help. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, and please feel free to ask questions, and please share. Prayers are always welcome.
