A hope for Silvia thanks to you

Ciao a tutti, fare questo appello per me è molto faticoso ma strettamente necessario.

Ho bisogno del vostro aiuto per mia moglie Silvia di 46 anni, madre di due ragazzi, che da ormai troppi anni lotta con forza e determinazione per sconfiggere un male tremendo: il calvario inizia nel 2013 quando un’incorretta diagnosi dermatologica fa ritardare di ben 5 mesi l’asportazione di un melanoma maligno raro e particolarmente aggressivo. Nonostante numerose metastasi, siamo riusciti tramite terapie su terapie ad arrivare ad oggi, ma negli ultimi mesi il melanoma è tornato più aggressivo che mai e l’intervento chirurgico alle metastasi cerebrali che avrebbe potuto essere migliorativo a Novembre 2023 presso l’ospedale Torrette di Ancona non ha dato i risultati sperati . Le metastasi purtroppo sono cresciute in maniera esponenziale: il caso è incurabile con terapie standard e note, possiamo affidarci solo a trial sperimentali.

Le speranze sono basse ma la mia famiglia non può arrendersi, affinché Silvia possa sopravvivere e vivere insieme ai suoi figli dobbiamo tentare il tutto per tutto.

Siamo attualmente in contatto con lo Sheba medical Center in Israele e con il Brigham and Women's hospital di Boston per valutare la possibilità di trial all’estero, estremamente costosi e al di fuori delle possibilità economiche dei più: la sola videochiamata in zoom per la valutazione del caso clinico presso Boston ha un costo di 900 $.

Qualora venissimo accettati non avremo tempo da perdere quindi sono qui a chiedervi un contributo per affrontare le spese mediche ed essere pronti a partire: potrebbe essere l’unica speranza e dobbiamo trovarci preparati. Le spese che faremo verranno condivise con tutti coloro che parteciperanno al GoFundMe.

Speriamo possiate capire la richiesta, se quello che abbiamo potesse bastare non saremo qui a parlare di eventi e sofferenze molto private ed intime che avremo preferito tenere per noi.

Se invece si verificassero le ipotesi peggiori che non voglio menzionare, la cifra ricevuta sarà divisa: una somma verrà devoluta in beneficienza (sceglieremo un’associazione e lo comunicheremo qui), mentre la restante parte sarà equamente divisa tra i nostri due figli, perché il futuro dei figli è la preoccupazione maggiore di ogni mamma e sarebbe un modo per alleviarla.

Hello everyone, making this call is very tiring for me but strictly necessary.

I need your help for my wife Silvia, 46 years old, mother of two teens, too many years she has been fighting with strength and determination to defeat a terrible evil: the ordeal began in 2013 when an incorrect dermatological diagnosis delayed the removal of a malignant and particularly aggressive rare melanoma by 5 months. Despite numerous metastases we have managed through therapy after therapy to get to today, but in recent months the melanoma has returned more aggressive than ever and the surgery for brain metastases which could have been improved in November 2023 at the Torrette hospital in Ancona was an unsuccessful result. Unfortunately, metastases have grown exponentially: the case is incurable with standard and known therapies, we can only rely on experimental trials.

Hopes are low but my family cannot give up, so that Silvia can survive and live together with her children we must try everything.

We are currently in contact with the Sheba Medical Center in Israel and with the Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston to evaluate the possibility of trials abroad, which are extremely expensive and beyond the economic possibilities of most: the only zoom video call for the evaluation of the clinical case in Boston costs $900.

If we are accepted we will have no time to waste so I am here to ask you for a contribution to cover the medical expenses and be ready to leave: it could be the only hope and we must be prepared. The expenses we make will be shared with all those who participate in the GoFundMe.

We hope you can understand the request, if what we have was enough we won't be here to talk about very private and intimate events and suffering that we would have preferred to keep to ourselves.

If, however, the worst cases occur which I do not want to mention, the amount received will be divided: a sum will be donated to charity (we will choose an association and communicate it here), while the remaining part will be equally divided between our two children, because the future of the children is every mother's greatest concern and this would be one way to alleviate it.
