CUREageous KENnedy

"Do Small Things with Great Love", ...meaningful life advice from Mother Theresa. It is our hope that individually, we can each do something small that collectively will have a huge impact on a local family in need.

Jeannine & Chris Kennedy have lived in our community for over twenty years, raising their three beautiful children, Olivia, Sophia & Jack, here. Over the years, through PTA involvement, sports-team-friendships and even Jeannine's new role as the school nurse at KPHS, they have made a loving and lasting impact on many in our community whose lives they've touched...whether it be a small act or a big gesture, you can always count on the Kennedys to step up and help.

On November 7, 2022, their lives were forever changed as their 14-year-old son, Jack, was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer, esthesioneuroblastoma. The journey since then has been quick-moving and overwhelming. Two weeks after the initial testing began, Jack underwent surgery to remove the tumor in his nasal passage. In mid-December, upon recovering from the surgery, Jack began the first of four aggressive chemotherapy treatment cycles and will need intense radiation treatment immediately following the fourth chemotherapy cycle.

Jeannine & Chris were told the treatment is going to make Jack very sick and he will likely need to be hospitalized. With a fever spiking Christmas Eve, Jack had to be admitted to the hospital (MSKCC) on Christmas Day where they have remained as testing is done to find the cause of the fever. This past week has proven to be a tremendous emotional and physical strain on the family as they care for Jack while traveling back and forth to Manhattan daily.

We are hoping to come together as a community, as we've done so many times in the past, and help the Kennedys in their time of need. In addition to the expense of daily trips to Manhattan, the medical bills associated with Jack's treatment are not completely covered by insurance and will be extremely sizable, a burden they likely can't even begin to worry about right now. If we can help ease this burden for them, I know they will be extremely touched and eternally grateful.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your time, support, love and prayers for Jack and the Kennedy family.
