Curtin University Film - The Eyes of Gosh

We are Curtin University students in our final year of studying Screen Arts working towards our major project short film, “The Eyes of Gosh”. I’m Syarisa Yasin, the film’s screenwriter and producer, and I’m proud to present our team of talented filmmakers:

Our story follows the journeys of a Pakistani-Australian family navigating through their inner dynamics and traditions in an ever-changing world. We are a diverse crew of people from various backgrounds and strive to create fair and original representations of South Asians in independent Australian cinema.

Story synopsis: A young Pakistani woman (Amina) who wants to control her future runs away on her wedding day. She flees in a stolen car but is intercepted by the ghost of her late mother, who passed away when she was young, an adventurous “Sheriff” type obsessed with the wild west. Along their journey, she helps Amina come to terms with her self-inflicted obligation to tradition and realises her reserved father is not against her and will support her life choices.

We’re asking for your support as students with basically no film budget assigned to us! Any amount helps to lift the load to get us out and riding on the road . Most of all, we hope to entertain and enlighten viewers with the power of filmmaking.
