Help with Curtis Beatrice's Medical Bills

Update: Curtis is now home and out of the hospital. He is still recovering from his pancreatitis, but is doing much better. Thank you all for your support!

Our brother Curtis is currently in the ICU at Tufts Medical Center and needs assistance with his rising medical bills. On Tuesday, January 16th, Curtis was admitted to a small hospital for unexpected acute pancreatitis after visiting their ER for severe stomach pains and vomiting that morning. After a couple of nights at this hospital, his condition began to worsen. As his pancreas continued to be inflamed and fluid started to fill his lungs, the doctors made the decision that he needed to be moved to the ICU and was then transferred to another ICU at a larger Boston hospital. His condition has not improved and he will not be able to consume food for weeks to months. There is no magic cure and it just takes time, so it will most likely be a long road to recovery.

Throughout this whole ordeal, he has received many scans, tests, ambulance rides and medications. As these continue and the hospital stay adds up, it is now becoming a financial burden on him. Hoping to seek other opportunities, Curtis made the decision to leave his job the day before he was admitted to the hospital. His benefits were terminated on the same day and he is left without the assistance of health insurance. Because he is unable to work, he will not be able to cover these costs on his own.

If you know Curtis, you know that he is one of the kindest, funniest and all around best people you will ever meet. His laugh is absolutely contagious and he is willing to help anyone without ever being asked. He loves to play and coach baseball – and he’s amazing at it! He is the loving son of Ellie Beatrice, wonderful brother of 10 siblings and arguably the favorite uncle of 7 nieces and nephews.
