Curtis&Ashleigh Jett-Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Curtis Jett, age 33, son of Cindy and Lee Jett of Sullivan County was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma in January of 2022.

These funds will be to help Curtis, wife Ashleigh, and two sons Ayden age 8, and Riley age 7, to relieve some stress put on the family through this hard time. The help that the Jett family receives will go towards gas money to drive to St. Louis and back for his treatment(radiation pills) and doctors appointments. It will also go towards bills, food, and essentials.

In August of 2021 Curtis, Ashleigh, and their boys moved to Champain Illinois, because Curtis received a job offer. They decided to rent an apartment instead of buying to make sure the job was what the family wanted before making any big decisions. In the middle of making this huge change their youngest son Riley was seen by his pediatrician and was referred to a developmental specialist to be screened this June. In just a few short months, Curtis noticed a mass in his throat, but soon went down after a few weeks. Towards the end of January it grew in size and was growing at a very rapid rate. That is when his doctor did a biopsy and it came back cancerous. He was referred to an oncologist in St. Louis due to the surgery being risky. On April 7th, Curtis went through surgery to remove both tumors, some muscles, all his lymph nodes, and also his thyroid gland. The doctor was able to save his trachea and vocal cords. The surgery went very well but the doctor could not remove all of the cancer. After his surgery he went in for a PET scan and found out he still had a few places on the back of his neck, and that the cancer had spread to a few places in his chest. They are hoping that his radiation pills will finish the job without having to go through another surgery. Since then he has started physical therapy for his shoulder due to minimal movement from the surgery.

Ashleigh is a full-time homemaker and it is undetermined when Curtis will be able to go back to work.
