Curt's Coffee Club Men's Retreat 2023

Hi everyone,

Curt's Coffee Club was founded in January 2022 in memory of Curtis Enamu - our friend who took his own life in 2018. The Club was established to encourage men in our community to come together and speak up in the face of our issues, discuss the importance of taking care of our minds and bodies in a world where many of us are left to struggle silently, with access to the right support just not available for some men. We have met together every other Saturday at 11am since then; supported by Chi Community Cafe in Phoenix Park, Runcorn - who kindly provide us with a meeting space and free tea/coffee for all attendees. Early on, we gathered our committee to discuss plans for the future and high up on the list has been to organise a Men's Retreat for a weekend (Friday to Sunday) this summer. This will be led by Luke & Paul and we will be holding scheduled activities such as:

This will be an alcohol-free, drug-free event and we will also be looking to prohibit/limit mobile phone usage for the weekend.

We need to raise £500, which will be purely to cover the cost of accommodation for the weekend and food.

Anything exceeding this will go towards a 2nd Retreat or donated to a local charity.

We don't expect massive donations from individuals, especially in difficult times such as these where money is tight - but if you can spare a couple of quid, it could be huge for us. All contributions are equally important to us.

One thing is clear - when many people gather together for a common cause, great things can happen. We want to ensure that coming to our events comes at NO COST.

Edit: In light of the tremendous support received so far we have extended our target to £1200 which will cover the cost of a 2nd Men’s Retreat, which we hope to schedule later in the year.
