Zander's recovery

Hi, my name is Mark, my nephew Zander was involved in an accident yesterday that caused severe damage to his eye. Zander was playing outside with his brother and sister when a stick accidentally impaled into his eye. My brother, Jeff, rushed him to the emergency room where they were immediately taken back, and Zander was being treated as a Level 1 Trauma due to the level of damage. Zander was transferred via ambulance to the Children's Hospital in Cleveland with my sister-in-law, his mom, Kristyn. He was immediately taken in for emergency surgery. The prognosis is unfortunately looking poor. It is very unlikely that he will regain vision in that eye. There is also a likely chance that he will need additional surgery to remove the eye. Jeff and Kristyn are taking it moment by moment and doctor by doctor to figure out the best plan of action for Zander. They all have a long road ahead of them to a full recovery including numerous specialists visits, physical therapy and psychiatry appointments for all the kids to help with the trauma that they have been through. We are starting this go GoFundMe page to support Jeff, Kristyn, Zander, Morgan and Lilyth as they navigate this difficult time. This money will go towards medical expenses, gas money for the travels back and forth to the specialists and any additional items Zander may need to help him with a full recovery. Zander is the sweetest kid I know, he is so kind and caring but he is also tough and he will get through this with all of the love and support from his friends and family.
