CUTOBER 2020

Cutober 2020 is about bringing awareness to the Covid-19 pandemic's other victims, depending how you google, during the October(USA) AND November(Canada) Domestic Violence Awareness Month and October 10ths International Mental Health Awareness Day.

Violence and mental health often travel hand in hand and have recieved little if any of the spotlight during this pandemic.  Domestic violence at home has risen  on average 20-30% around the world and Canada is no exception as well as increased suicides and record amounts of ODs because of the loss of social connections and isolation.  Just read some of these medical journal studies that are coming out.

October 10th, 2020
My 6 year old daughter is cutting my hair on the tenth of October which will be a visual aid as a jumping off point to start more conversations about what we can all do better in these times for eachother. I will keep my daughter's 'uniquely fashioned' haircut style with pride for 1 min more for every dollar raised during
October for up to 60 days come November1st.  (There's 86 400 mins in 60 days.)

You can follow me along on the Facebook page Cutober

All money raised during this fundraiser campaign will go directly to the United Way in the BC interior which has been earmarked to go towards domestic violence and mental health.  They have the established tools and means to reaching these people at every critical stage for before, during and after their personal crisis.
