Help a friend who lost everything!

I first met my buddy Shane 13 years ago, when we were both in a dark place our lives. Despite being cellmates in Sarasota County, we got along right off the bat and spent many long hours swapping stories and picking each other's brains! We've lost touch and reconnected in the long time since then, and it's been amazing to see his steadily upward path these last couple years. To see my friend have the strength to get himself permanently free of drinking, and drugs has been beyond inspirational!
Fast forward to a few months ago, my dude Shane has gotten rid of all his earthly possessions to live the simple life on a boat!
Shane sold his Corvette, his motorcycle, got out of the lease on his house and sold everything else he owned, to chase his dream of freedom on the ocean!
That brings us to now, when my friend needs help more than any other time I can remember. What follows is a direct quote from Shane's recent FB post, regarding his boat getting caught in a storm off the west coast of Florida...
"Tragedy hit today!! The storm broke my cable and my boom dropped!! Which caused my sail to come down. That left the front jib up which sent me into 360 spin. During the process of trying to get the jib sail down I watched Harley go overboard!! I ran and grabbed his safety line to pull him out and only got his life jacket. At this point I started my engine and tried to get the boat under control and try to get to my dog. Understand.... my jib is still up spinning my boat in 360!! A tie rope had come off the boat and got caught in my propeller!! It bent the shaft and sent it through my hull!! Causing it to take on water real fast. I finally lost site of my dog. Understand....the storm is on full force at this time spinning me in circles and throwing me all over the boat. I am beat up with a couple broken toes, maybe shin. I finally got the jib down. AnD was able to get my anchor on the water. It finally caught and held. I spent the next hour in a horrible storm that left me scared to death!!! After an hour I was finally able to move and called 911. The USCG came and got me and my boat back to Crows Nest in Venice. I had gotten blown 4 miles out to shore before I got my anchor down. I am currently going to stay on it tonight to keep the water out of it. At 7:30 in the morning I am having it towed and pulled out of the water and fixed. It is for sale. I am done. And I lost my best friend I chose to post this to try and answer everyone at once. I am super fried right now. Let me digest this. I will try and talk to everyone tomorrow. I am alive. But not my little boy Harley."
