Emergency Vet Expenses

Hi friends. As you may know by now, the worst unimaginable thing happened at the end of our vacation. Our sweet Applejack was in the care of our sitter we used on our last vacation and had a traumatizing death. She told us she gave him a bone rawhide by accident and had an upset tummy with diarrhea. She left him unattended at home for over 4 hours to run errands. She let him have bloody stools for over 24 hours before alerting me once he was limp and lethargic, saying she thinks he needed to go to a vet but couldn't take him until after 10 am. I had my friend rush to get him and take him to the ER, but unfortunately, with all the efforts of the staff and my fantastic friend, it was just too late for our guy. I am baffled in knowing someone who claims to be a pet owner/dog lover would leave someone else's pet to suffer alone and could watch a dog essentially bleed/poop to death with no remorse. The image I received from the sitter of HALF, the puppy pad completely covered in blood, was tramatizing, and I am still in disbelief of this person's actions.

In the last two weeks, my family has been trying to cope with the traumatic loss of our Applejack, all while also getting him justice for the situation. We had to transport our sweet boy to ft collins for an autopsy and are currently waiting on the results to pursue legal action. As a result of this unexpected situation, we have had emergency vet bills, autopsy screening fees, and funeral expenses, all of which have put a dent in our August finances.

If you know me personally, you know I am never one to ask for help, and I feel awkward asking now. I have had a few of you asking how to help, and this, as well as just sending positive vibes for our family during this time, would be much appreciated. Whatever excess funds we receive or if we win our case will be donated to Dumb Friend's League.
