CVAR Needs help with Four Animal Cruelty Cases

This year CVAR is already seeing a record number of animals from cruelty and hoarding cases. We have taken in over 350 animals, in 4 cases! CVAR has taken in 18 Anatolian Shepherds, 8 cats, 6 domestic rats, 5 ferrets, an emu, a goat, 4 horses, a pony, a mule, a small dogs, 6 doves, 3 turkeys, a pea hen and countless ducks, geese, guineas and chickens; all these animals require individual care; each get veterinary exams, internal and external parasite treatments and many need full blood work, fecal testing, urinalysis and radiography (it is a challenge get
ting blood work on emaciated/dehydrated rats, ferrets and birds!). Many of theses animals so weak they couldn't walk; many more dead on scene before help got there. Lots of these animals needed round the clock medical care and hospitalization as well. Our wonderful crew of volunteer veterinarians have done an incredible job and we have been able to save almost all the animals (3 poultry didn't make it).
Costs are mounting! Each panel sent out to the lab costs $40-80; medications and feed are adding up fast as well. That is a lot of extra mouths to feed.
