ASSISTED LIVING COST

ME: My name is Scott Cummings, I am 63 years old and an Honorably Discharged Vietnam Era Marine Corps Veteran. I am a lifelong resident of Northville, MI., and a graduate of Northville High School 1974. I am a prideful man and find this to be difficult for me to ask for help, but I am in such dire need now that I don’t know what else I can do.
My story: I came down with a muscle disease called Polymyositis in October of 2014. This disease is considered rare with little research being done and affects the skeletal muscles. I currently get a blood infusion every four weeks, I have been receiving them for over 2 years. I am in a wheel chair and unable to stand or walk, I have been living in an assisted living facility for 3 years. I have used all my savings and investments to pay for the rent and care services, therefore I am asking for financial help. I do hope with financial help that I may live here for another year while I continue physical therapy. The physical therapy will strengthen my legs and return the muscles back to working like they used to, so that I will be able to stand and walk again. Therapy is hard work but I feel the changes.
Help: I have tried many organizations for help and denied from all. I have been trying to get a loan, so that I can continue to afford to live here and for the care I need.
The cost of the assisted living facility is not inexpensive and I am asking for help in the amount of $100,000
