Help Josie with Medical Expenses

Josie was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkins Lymphoma in March of 2021. Josie--or as many of her friends call her, Jo--is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you'll meet. She is eternally optimistic and forever loyal. No one deserves to experience cancer, especially not Jo. 

In the midst of a global pandemic, Josie now has the extra stress of going through chemo. Aside from the physical pain and discomfort that chemo brings, Josie is adjusting to the fact that hair loss is a common side effect. We want Josie to be able to look in the mirror and not have to be reminded of the internal battle her body is going through. Scarves and headwraps can be fun and stylish but being able to do her hair is something that sparks joy in Josie.

We were all disappointed to hear that a quality wig costs a small fortune. Josie found a wig that suits her perfectly! The catch: It costs $2,900 out of pocket. While Josie has insurance, she found out that it doesn't cover the cost of a wig. If you find that unfair and even inhumane, read on. We believe that Josie deserves the dignity of being able to do her hair and feel some sense of normalcy in the midst of this incredibly stressful chapter of life.
