Stewart-Trethewey Family has lost everything!!

Shannon wanted to thank everyone for all the support:

It has taken me some time to process all that has gone on in the last week but I think I’ve finally found some courage to talk about it. For those who don’t know, my sons and I lost our home, vehicle and all our possessions in a house fire on Sunday July 7th. At the time of the fire, two of my sons and three of their friends were in the home. It is a miracle that anyone made it out safely, but somehow they all did. All the boys were treated at PCH in summerside at the emergency dept for smoke inhalation. Landon and his good friend were both intubated and moved to ICUs. Thankfully, they are both out and recovering. The level of care they all received at PCH was world class. The boys felt completely enveloped with love and so safe in the care of the nurses and doctors there. I will be forever grateful to the entire team for making sure these boys made it through.
I will also never be able to thank my sister enough for showing up to the scene, rescuing the boys, getting them to the hospital and keeping me on the phone for hours until I could make it back. I am a registered nurse and had been working away on a contract in Saskatoon when I got the call. I had made that decision so that I could support my mom and my three sons. I obviously will never be able to be that far from them again.
It’s a miracle that anyone made it out that night. The boys describe seeing paths with no fire in a home that was completely consumed by flames and smoke. There is no logical explanation for that other than Gramps was with them, guiding them to safety.
We are all still very much in shock. It’s going to be a very long road to recovery when it comes to our mental health.
But we are a very strong family and we will eventually all be ok. Thankfully, I had insurance. Sometime in the future, we will get a home rebuilt and belongings back. But that takes time. I will have to take time off work to get things figured out. There is a lot insurance will cover but a lot that it won’t. I just wanted to publicly thank everyone who has donated clothes and money to our family. This will give me some time to be off with the boys and help them through this. In a year or so, we will get a house and belongings back. But honestly, none of that matters to me. I am just so grateful that all of the boys made it through this horrific fire. We lost everything but somehow I feel like the richest woman in the world because I still have my boys.

Lets bring our family home....

I am a friend of the Stewart/Trethewey family and I am trying to help ease the burden of this terrible loss.

Shannon Stewart and her boys, Coulson, Landon and Hudson Trethewey have lost their entire home in Indian River, PEI.

In the early hours of July 7th, 2024, 5 young men narrowly escaped a horrendous house fire. The Trethewey family has lost all of their belongings in this horrific house fire that totally destroyed their home.

Landon was intubated and moved to the ICU at QEH in Charlottetown after being initially treated at PCH hospital. He is now out of the hospital and recovering.

Shannon will be taking time off work so that she can be with her boys and start the healing process.

The family is hoping to come back home to Ontario to live in the near future.

If you can please help in anyway possible they will all be eternally grateful.
