Lisa Anne INNIS
May 11, 1964 – January 8, 2021
Lisa passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2021 after an unexpected yet valiant battle with COVID-19. She was the devoted single parent to Trace and Taylor Winterich (Panama City Beach, FL and Viera, FL). An ardent supporter of her children’s interests and activities, including Arnold HS Football, culinary arts, NJROTC, and Sambo, she joyfully boasted her children’s accomplishments with pride.
Raised as a proud Marine Corp “brat” in Camp LeJeune & Jacksonville (NC), Iwakuni (Japan), Herndon (VA), and Melbourne, (FL), she was the beloved daughter of Donald and the late Miyoko (Chris) INNIS, sister of Victoria (INNIS) Wozniak and David Ball (Tampa), and most loving godmother & aunt to Alyssa Wozniak (Tampa). Lisa also leaves behind adoring aunts and uncles: Caroline & Dale CALDWELL (OK/FL), Carol INNIS (WI/FL/VA), Harry STRAUGHN (MA), and Tina INNIS (NC). She is also the treasured daughter-in-law of Don & Annette Winterich (Satellite Beach), who treated her as their own.
To her dear cousins and infinite friends, Lisa leaves a legacy of memories of her adventurous and free spirit. She was always prepared with tasty culinary provisions, refreshing libations, and soundtracks that kept everyone going for days. An organized planner, travel was Lisa’s passion; after a memorable sojourn throughout Scotland with her much-loved cousin, Jodie, they had full itineraries mapped out well up to the next decade.
For years she was a lively and memorable colleague throughout the hallways of Harris Corporation in Melbourne, and most recently Serco in Panama City Beach, Florida. A graduate of Florida Tech, Lisa remained active with the FIT Crew program, rowing in Master’s races and mentoring younger rowers.
Mom, daughter, sister, godmother, cousin, and friend to all- Lisa will be remembered for her contagious smile, fierce loyalty, and epicurean lifestyle . ‘You should be dancing’ is Lisa’s legacy. She lived each day to the fullest and brightened every life she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the near future when family and friends can travel and gather safely. Many of Lisa’s coworkers, friends and clients have inquired about how they can help her children after the sudden and unexpected loss of their mother. The Innis family has set up the Lisa Anne Innis Memorial Fund to support her children and to establish a legacy gift at her alma mater, Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in Melbourne, Florida.
