Na Fianna Gaelic Football & Camogie

We are Na Fianna (say /nuh fee nah/) Ladies Gaelic Football Club based in sunny San Diego, CA. Translated from Irish, Na Fianna means "The Warriors"

Granted, those guys are the Best of the Best but still it is a 100% amatuer sport. No one is paid. No one is traded. You play for the pride of your Club - be it your town or your county. And we do, too!

Every year our main goal is to go to the North American Championship games where we compete in our division for a massive cup and serious bragging rights. The Championship games are held in different cities around the US and it is our fondest wish to some day hold those games in our very own San Diego, America's Finest City!

As the only women's team in southern California we must travel to get in ANY competitive games or we must get other Clubs to come to us. It's not an easy task as it takes a goodly amount of money for travel and hotels, but it is one we gladly accept for the love of the sport.

So, we hold fund raisers...

Halloween Costume Contest anyone?

And host a Sevens Tournament every year...



We run a co-ed pub league in the off season



Each year we march in San Diego's St Patrick's Day Parade and help educate the locals on Gaelic Games...



We practice a lot and when we play, we play hard!




We have great fun



We even scrub up nice!



And we've built life long friendships in the process...

Our time grows short but we still greatly appreciate your support in helping our panel of extremely skilled and dedicated ladies get to Ireland.
