Abby's Army-a Fundraiser for the Bosarges
Donation protected
This is Abigail Bosarge. She is one of 5 children in a very loving family. She is a straight A student, a forward on the Pass High Soccer team (#10) and a Kicker/Wide Receiver on the Gulf Coast Monarchy football team (#7). She is the team player everyone thinks about when it comes to never giving up. Ever.
Abigail has a kind and authentic character and a generous spirit. She has so many wonderful friends because Abby knows how to be a good friend. She loves animals, especially dogs, and volunteers at her local Humane Society. She is passionate about her dog, Stan.
She does the announcements every morning for her high school and she would love to be a journalist or "the good kind" of lawyer or politician. Her speaking voice and stage presence are captivating.
Abby recently scored a 32 on her ACT, and shortly after that, on June 3rd (her little brother's birthday) she tested positive for AML Leukemia…. Abigail is not a statistic. She is a warrior. And she is so, so loved.

Please join our effort to assist the Bosarge family to ease some of the stress and worry from Abby’s recent diagnosis with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare form of blood cancer. We are not yet certain of their exact level of need, as the situation is changing. There are, however, a few things that are certain:
The costs of Abby’s treatment, including months of hospital care, chemotherapy treatments, frequent blood and platelet transfusions, DNA sequencing, bone marrow donor testing, and subsequent bone marrow transplants will be formidable; and health insurance rarely covers all expenses.
Abby has little to no functional immunity during certain periods of her treatment. This fact, combined with the ongoing threat from Covid-19 meant that her father had to immediately stop going into work once he learned of her diagnosis. It puts Abby at too great a risk for any member of her family to be exposed to possible infection.
Currently, both of Abby's parents remain by her side at the Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, MS and are fully involved in her daily physical care. Their other children are at home with family, three hours’ drive from the hospital. What the Bosarges need, as soon as possible, is a safe and clean environment near the hospital where the whole family can stay while Abby undergoes treatment. This is not just for moral support, but because Abby’s whole family must stay healthy in order to help her. Abby’s siblings are the most likely matches as donors for her upcoming bone marrow transplants but if they become sick they will not be able to donate. Despite their financial uncertainty, frequent travel to and from their house to various hotels in an effort to save money would needlessly increase their exposure to infection. Instead, the Bosarges will need to rent a house or apartment in Jackson for the next three to six months (maybe more).
Please donate to ensure that this immediate need is taken care of so the Bosarges can continue to focus all their love and energy on Abby's healing. Thank you for donating and sharing this GoFundMe with your friends. Any amount you can give will be helpful and appreciated. Donations will be used to cover the cost of renting a house or apartment near the hospital. Any extra funds will be used to help to cover the cost of Abby’s care and medical expenses.
