New Knee For Suzi

Suzi has struggled for over 12 years with a vestibular disorder.  The disorder has caused proprioception ataxia – which basically means that her brain must re-learn where her body parts are in relation to each other and especially in relation to the ground.  Sometimes walking has required the use of a walker.  To make matters worse, old injuries to her right knee have resulted in increasing pain on a daily basis which is interfering with further progress in therapy for her ataxia.  Her orthopedic doctor says the knee has only 30% function at this point and the pain will continue to worsen.  Therefore, the next step is to have a total knee replacement.

A total knee replacement costs between $25,000 and $35,000. Suzi’s out-of-pocket share is $5,000 and due to her limited resources, she needs help raising these funds.
