2020 CWRU Crew Ergathon
Donation protected
The Ergathon is a 24-hour event put on by the Case Crew Team where rowers erg on indoor rowing machines to raise money for the team's spring break training trip, which helps us prepare for a successful race season!
As a university club sport, Case Crew is responsible for the majority of its own fundraising in order to cover the costs of equipment, maintenance, and travel to regattas. These are considerable expenses, and we have been effective in covering them with bake sales, volunteering at the Brown’s Stadium, and hosting restaurant fundraisers. However, we are asking you to participate in another, very important, fundraiser – the Ergathon! The Ergathon is an annual fundraising tradition in which members of the crew team get together to row for 24 hours straight. The event requires at least one person to be on a rowing machine at all times for the continuous 24-hour period. The proceeds that we gather from this fundraiser will go directly to the payment of our vital spring training trip, which will take place March 7th through March 14th in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Relocating to warmer waters for this week is crucial for developing the fitness and technique that is necessary to succeed in collegiate rowing.
Thank you on behalf of the entire Case Crew team! We look forward to a very successful spring season with the help of this solid week of training, and we can’t wait to share our upcoming successes with you!
Check out our Facebook page or re-vamped website!
For some added fun, the ergathon is streamed on Facebook Live and comments can be made requesting sprints! For a 100 meter sprint by a rower we ask for a donation of $1.
