Helen’s fight against cancer
Donation protected
Last Wednesday, our beautiful friend Helen received the devastating news that the severe pain she was suffering was being caused by multiple abdominal cancers. Further testing revealed that none of the three identified were the primary, so, after a week already in hospital waiting for information, she remains there now, awaiting further testing.
Her husband, Bruce, and two year old son, Freddie, were fortunate to have her company at home for a short time this weekend. On Sunday evening, Helen returned to hospital to hear, we all pray, something positive from the chaos that was last week.
To date, there is no information about test dates, potential treatment or future outlook, so her dedicated husband continues to manage hospital trips, childcare, running the house and work, all with the underlying worry about how to pay for it all in the back of his mind; this at a time when money should be the last of his worries.
Nearly 3 years ago, the couple suffered an agonising wait for their son to be released from the neo natal ward, having been born nearly 4 months prematurely. Freddie is a great boy and is thriving, Helen and Bruce thought that no experience could have been worse than that which they'd already been through.
We are asking for your help now to enable Bruce to continue his support of Helen as her future care needs unfold in front of him, unburdened by the worry of how to afford hospital parking and feeding himself and his son. Every donation will be hugely appreciated and will ease the struggle this family now face. We know life is hard for everyone right now, but for this beautiful family, it just got a lot harder.
We'll update this page with Helen's progress, as and when we hear it, as we know that too may help some of you.
Thank you, Lins & Becka xxx

On Saturday 30th September, after only 10 days living with a cancer diagnosis, our beautiful friend Helen, devoted mother to Freddie, adored wife of Bruce, lost her fight for life.
She has left our hearts broken and our minds at a loss to explain why her body was able to fight so hard without revealing soon enough the truth of what it was having to cope with.
The donations you have made here are testament to the beauty and kindness that Helen always saw in others, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
We ask that you don't forget the family left behind by Helen, a true force of nature, who only the worst of diseases could ever have stopped.
Thank you so much for all that you have given and know that it will be helping two people who need every ounce of help they can get right now just to face each day without their Helen.
This page will remain open for a few more days, any further donations will go towards Helen’s funeral. We will of course update you with her funeral date once confirmed.
