Hey there, wonderful supporters! I'm Felipe Nystrom, a former Costarrican Road National champion and current medical interpreter based in Portland, OR. I've embarked on a transformative journey, using cycling as a tool for recovery and connection. Now, I'm teaming up with Joseph Ramirez, a U23 rider and former MTB National champion, to take our passion to the next level and share the Pura Vida with the world.
Our Story:
Cycling has been a beacon of hope for me, helping me overcome battles with depression, addiction, and alcoholism. It's not just about personal achievements; it's about bringing hope to others facing similar struggles. Joseph shares this vision, and together, we want to inspire change and diversity in the world of cyclocross.
The Dream:
We're reaching out for your support to make our dream a reality - racing the cyclocross season in Europe this winter! This journey is not just about us; it's about breaking barriers and bringing a new flavor to a predominantly Northern European sport.
Why Europe?
Our goal is to race in Belgium, Netherlands, and Spain, immersing ourselves in the heart of cyclocross culture and toe the line with the best in the world. The season kicks off with our first race in Namur on Dec 17, and with your help, we aim to stay through the World Championships in February in Tabor, Czech Republic racing about 15 races over that month and a half.
The Ask:
With no sponsors, I have reached the max that I'm able to cover on my own so we're seeking $15,000 to cover the costs of traveling, racing, and making a lasting impact. Your contribution will not only support our journey but also help Joseph achieve his dreams, contributing to the much-needed diversity in the sport.
