Cycling Northampton - London with 30kg dog on the front.

Hi, I'm Dan.
I've done multiple charity rides for the Air Ambulance. This time I'm riding 100 miles from Northampton - London with my best friend Troy hitching a ride for a good friend's daughter.
As a father their story got to me and I decided I wanted to help.
Read below for Chris and Melissa's story....
'In 2020, when she was 29, my daughter Melissa was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). She rapidly progressed and now uses a wheelchair.
She is likely to deteriorate quickly and the only treatment which will give her the chance to halt her MS is a stem-cell transplantation (HSCT).
The prospect is life-changing, but is unavailable to her on the NHS, so she is looking to have the procedure done privately. This comes at a cost, and we are hoping to raise £15,000 towards it.
Her first relapse, pre-diagnosis, was an episode of optic neuritis which makes it difficult and painful for her to spend extended time on screens.'
⭐️UPDATE⭐️
Chris posted this on FB on 12/7/2024
Just After 6 days of chemotherapy to wipe out her entire immune system, Melissa had her own stem-cells reintroduced into her body, and she feels she has been given a new life. Realising that the idea of being able to halt further MS progression means more than is completely comprehensible until it’s actually happened
She says that what is nice is feeling full of optimism about the future, rather than the constant knowledge of rapid deterioration.
Althpugh Melissa's treatment is now completed all of your kind donations no matter the size, will help Chris and his family recoup a little of the costs.
I am aiming to do the ride on 25th August 2024 but the date may change to make sure Troy is kept safe if the weather is too hot.
