Cycling without Age - Trishaws for Wells

Do you want to join us in making a difference in Wells ?

We are raising money for Cycling Without Age Wells/Trishaws for Wells to buy a new trishaw (three-wheel cycles with a passenger cab out front). Wells Community Network (WCN) want to enable older adults and people who may have limited mobility out for a trishaw ride, so they are seen and feel part of the local community of Wells. We want to help break them free from social isolation, to feel the wind in their hair, see what’s going on, sing if they want to and do something different. Give them a sense of purpose and something to look forward to. We will pilot the Trishaw's using our team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help achieve this.

The amazing thing is that people of all ages smile when they see a Trishaw and want to engage with the passengers. We will cycle slowly so it’s easy to stop to take a closer look at something or have a chat with someone.

 

It’s especially lovely for the families of people with dementia to see their family members enjoy rides out on trishaws.

Whether you are three or one hundred and three, life should be full of joy and surprises.

Trishaws will help those of us who feel isolated find connection, and those of us who are sad to have some fun.

People who have been isolated will feel part of their local community.

People who have mobility problems will feel the wind in their hair.

Trishaws bring a smile to people’s faces, a belly laugh, a memory, they bring much needed interaction.

For those of us living with dementia, for our carers, for our families a ride in a Trishaws can create simple happy memories.

For those of us who want to volunteer and get some exercise, make new friends.

Trishaws bring a smile with every mile.
