FUNDRAISER FOR VANUATU REBUILD

Donation protected
The media did not cover this but 1 week ago the tiny South Pacific nation of Vanuatu was hit with a back to back category 4 & 5 cyclone with a 6.7 earthquake all within 2 days declaring the country in a STATE OF EMERGENCY. Many islands of Vanuatu were badly effected including the capital city Port Vila and rural area of Efate, Tanna and many still without network and power so it is still unknown the destruction and injury caused in other provinces until comms are back and network restored. Australian government has sent the army to provide immediate relief however having lived there for 9 years and knowing what to expect, our local communities are suffering and whilst their basic living needs are being met but local NGO's and military, the people of Vanuatu will be in recovery for a long time after all the ships have left. WE NEED YOUR HELP, every money counts! Follow our journey by clicking on the links below and being apart of this journey with us. Thank you in advance for your support

Hi everyone, My name is Tahnia, I live in the rural area of North Efate as a business owner and have been connected with our local community for over 9 years. I am currently in Australia doing everything I can to fundraise money to rebuild our community as it's the only thing I can do to make the most impact while the network and power are down in the area.

The people you see in the photo are our local family who asked one of the passing visitors to view the recent destruction to take a photo and send it to me to let me know they are all ok and in good spirits. I have included a youtube video below to follow my story as my dad and I have been through all of this already in 2015 when Cyclone Pam tore down our resort for 18 months I was the medical aid for the community and together we rebuilt the local school, kindergarten, homes and more. It's so tragic this has happened again and so soon! My heart aches for what has been lost and while it is material things, our business is the pillar support of the community and so many depend on us to provide income to feed their families.

Even if we wanted to walk away, it is not an option for us as so many need us and their livelihoods depend on us. Especially those captured in the above photo are helping us clean up the destruction caused at the resort voluntarily as they understand it is so crucial for everyone to get back up and running as soon as possible. The help has always been both ways which is why we love them so much but we are not in a position to help them right now with our business destroyed and this is devastating. Giving up is not an option but we need outside help.

We need to raise money to send over not 1 but 3 containers which are what is needed to rebuild our business and community and still have enough to send to the neighbouring islands including Pele, Nguna & Emau. There are no other containers going to these areas. My goal is to support by providing basic essentials for homes to rebuild and live but also providing goods that will help with providing additional income long-term to families.

The Epic Tale of Le Life Resort Vanuatu: An Unforgettable Eco-Resort

We only just opened our borders after 2 gruelling long years to have this happen again. check out this video of our beautiful staff and team behind North Efate Community

Our plan is to use the money raised to purchase the shipping containers which will cost up to $15,000 each including shipping and we are doing this by doing on-the-ground fundraisers, online efforts and using personal money. The second phase will be to commence a team of builders to travel to Vanuatu to assist in the building recovery.

Please show your love for these people by donating here and if you would like to drop off goods to go into the container or get involved in another capacity, please contact me direct at: 0401 611 432
