Fighting Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello,
My dear mother Susan McCaskill has been diagnosed with ductile carcinoma of the breast on March 31, 2023. I never in a million years expected a diagnosis of breast cancer since it doesn’t run in our family. My mother is 67 years old and a single mother of 3 children. My mother is a 25 year retired Atlanta Public Schools Bus Driver. She has professionally transported, cared, and protected some wonderful students of Morris Brandon and Sutton Middle School. In her career she has transported over 1000 students to school, school events, athletics trips and substituted on many routes. My mom is the strongest person I know. She will give someone the shirt off her back if she could. She has never turned a family member away that needed help.
On April 3, 2023, her life changed. She was diagnosed with SITU (DCIS) Intermediate to High Nuclear grade solid Breast Cancer in her right breast. Getting this diagnosis froze her entire body where thinking and making decisions to take care everyone was near to impossible now. She has taken care of so many people from sisters, brothers, her own children, bonus children, friends, and etc.
Now she needs help. Being strong and continuing to be strong positive throughout this situation is a daily struggle. Each day the growing reality shines a light on my new life. On May 11th, she has to have her right breast removed. The mental strength and faith in God during these time will be tested but we will get through this. My mother life is full of challenges that she needs help achieving now:
1. Mortgage 2 months due
2. Uber ride fee to get to appointments physical therapy 2 weekly
3. Clothes tops or dresses that don't show my surgery incision
4. Paying for my cancer medication Co-pay
5. Buying 4 breast mastectomy bra and under shirts
6. Fresh vegetables and fruits, chicken, turkey, salmon, and perch fish
I have to eat 3 meals a day to maintain my health and a new diet.
To be honest, she is broken. She doesn't know how to start this life of taking her Chemo pill "Anastrozole" daily for 5 years. We are praying that her cancer doesn't come back as she battles depression, tears, and anxiety daily.
I pray for strength and health as we continue to endure this trying time right now. Please pray for my mother as she regain her purpose, strength, her creativity, and love for caring for others.
