Cynthia Leigh needs your help!

I’m sure you all remember the Zoo Cruise & Mermaid operating on Sylvan Lake from 1993 to 2014, & Cynthia Leigh, who ran these boats that provided so many hours of entertainment & made memories for us all. Cynthia, husband Pierre & son Antoine gave up their Sylvan business when circumstances shut them down in 2014 & moved to a little village near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They purchased an inn with six apartments & have built up a business there. In true Cynthia fashion she became involved with some Puerto Vallarta Rotary partners in providing English as a Second Language classes & has seen outstanding success, even finding sponsors to facilitate these promising students going on to higher learning. That’s Cynthia’s give back attitude.

And now our friend Cynthia is facing the fight of her life. In early December she suddenly became ill. In PVR hospital for three weeks prior to Christmas she was diagnosed with cervical cancer (& a tumour too large to operate on) that has spread to her kidneys & bladder. Her only hope - a clinic in Tijuana called Immunity Therapy Centre - who claim a 75% success rate.

I am Bonnie Ganske & together with my husband Dale we visited the inn for Christmas this year, finding Cynthia, Pierre & Antoine in this terrible predicament with her health. Having known Cynthia through Sylvan Rotary, Chamber & Leads Business Club I have always had great admiration for her giving nature & her entrepreneurial spirit.

As you can imagine, treatment is costly & bills are quickly mounting. Cynthia refused this Go Fund Me at first, private person that she is, but realizes her friends care & will want to help. She is currently at the Tijuana clinic receiving daily intensive treatment.
