For those of you that don't know me, I am Cosette. I am a very near and dear friend of Cynthia. But who isn't right? Cynthia was friends with everyone. That is what was so wonderful about her.
On Wednesday, September 7th, we lost Cynthia. We lost that light in our day. We lost that voice that we would hear above all others and believe when she would say, "Today is a good day - everything is going to be ok."
Cynthia Kicked Cancer's Ass, and she did it in style and with smiles. She wore a different hat to every appointment. She didn't do that for herself. She did that because she felt bad for the people that worked at the doctor's office. She would take them cookies. It is a sad place where you go and get chemo Cynthia told me. She wanted to ensure that somehow she made their day better and added some silly and laughter. Taco Tuesday, she had to get an MRI. Cynthia showed up for her appointment in a huge Taco hat and a ton of tacos for the employees. While fighting her battle with breast cancer, she would take care of others. She knew she only had so many hours before getting sick from a chemo appt, so she would quickly make a focaccia bread or other yummy to share with friends or jump online to make sure she communicated with those she loved and cared about before she got sick. That is Cynthia. The most giving and loving woman that I have ever met. She was a good example to all of us of what we should strive to be as friends and humans. Cynthia in the midst of trouble and sadness, would make us all laugh with her taco hats and her ladybug hats and all the many hats in between. She had this amazing ability to make everyone she met, feel seen.
Anyone who knew her, also knew that Cynthia was always the first one there to help anyone who needed it. She was great at making you laugh and feeding you...always. Even right now I can imagine her making a pot of soup, cracking some jokes and inviting all the other angels to join in while they plan their Taco Tuesday. Gotta have Taco Tuesday! She probably already has her sourdough starter going.
Please help us support Cynthia's family and those she loved most in this world. Cynthia cared deeply and loved hard, she also always had a smile for everyone, and no one was a stranger. Cynthia's boys, Alex and Aaron are being just as strong as their mama. They have been out checking on Cynthia's friends to make sure that they are ok. Aaron checks on me daily. The last thing we want is for this young family to have to worry about money. We want to give back to this amazing woman's family and let them know what their mom meant to us, and show Cynthia, that her family is going to be okay and that we will make sure of that.
The boys need money for the end of life expenses and to hopefully keep the house that Aaron has lived his whole life in. The normal bills that come with a home. Keeping the house and keeping life as normal as it can be without their Mom. All donations are appreciated. Nothing is too big or too small. Thank you so much for helping our dear friends during this sudden change in their lives.
