Cystic Fibrosis Trust-London Marathon 2024
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Isaac, I have Cystic Fibrosis, asthma and diabetes and I am running the 2024 London Marathon for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. For those who don't know what Cystic Fibrosis is, it is an inherited condition in which the lungs and digestive system become blocked with thick mucus causing breathing and digestive problems which as a result decreases life expectancy. This is a condition which I have to had to deal with since birth, taking up to 80 tablets each day alongside regular hospital visits, however, this has not prevented me from taking part in many sports as well as the gym and running. I felt inspired to apply for the London Marathon from a recent experience where I was hospitalised with decreased lung function and therefore spent much of my day watching and researching other individuals' marathon experiences. Following this, I completed a sub-2-hour half marathon with a PICC line still in my arm and having completed this, I felt as though I wanted to push myself even further. Through running this marathon, I not only aim to raise money for a charity close to me but also to prove that Cystic Fibrosis does not limit what you are capable of.
