My son is 6 years old and has a life threatening lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis. This causes large amounts of sticky mucus to coat his lungs and other organs, making it difficult to breathe, and at times he will be hospitalized for this. He has been doing chest therapy 2-4 times a day lasting 30 minutes at a time since he was about a month old. This helps loosen the mucus so it can be coughed out. He also takes roughly 26 medications daily, and more when he is sick. He is considered failure to thrive, has celiac disease, GERD, pancreatic deficiency and has a g-tube in place for supplemental feedings.
I have been trying to find alternative treatments for him as this disease will only get worse, and eventually take this beautiful child away from me. I have found that salt therapy is highly beneficial to all pulmonary diseases. I wanted to purchase him a salt room, but those are extremely expensive. So I would like to get him a salt therapy tent to help loosen the musus in his lungs. And prevent bacteria from growing.
No life should have to suffer from this horrible disease. The pain families have to go through on a daily basis seeing their child suffer day after day, year after year. Knowing one day he will get a cold he can't recover from. I will fight for my son till my dying day, when he is weak, I will hold him up, and I will do everything in my power to give him the healthiest life I can.
