Officer James Lear Memorial Fund

Hi my name is Sabrina, I have created this Go Fund Me page for my sister in-law and her 4 children.
On December 10th, 2021 my brother in-law, Deputy James Allan Lear lost his 2 month battle against Covid-19. James was only 43 years old.
On October 28th, 2021 both my brother in-law and sister in-law were so sick from Covid-19 that they were both rushed to the hospital. They were both admitted and placed in separate rooms. Tricia was placed on a ventilator days later and at that time we did not think she would be making it home. James had so much anxiety with her condition, which in return would not allow his lungs to heal like they needed. After 17 days on that vent, Tricia made a miraculous improvement and was breathing on her own. "GOD IS AMAZING", James posted on his Facebook that day, so excited for her improvement. Unfortunately he was not showing this same improvement. 2 weeks later Tricia was doing so well that she was discharged home. She didn't know that it would be the last day she was able to see or speak to her husband. That their last hug, kiss or "I love you" would be in that hospital room. The next day James' lungs and body needed a break causing him to go into cardiac arrest. James was not able to recover.
James served in the US Special Forces from 2006-2011. Following his return from the military he attended the police academy in Battle Creek, MI. He then went on to service as a Deputy in Van Buren County from 2015 to his "Final Call" on December 22, 2021.
It’s not often that we are blessed with a person as kind, compassionate, and generous as James. He was a kind and loving husband, father, son, brother, protector and a great and loyal friend to so many people. He touched so many of our lives. James leaves behind his loving wife Tricia and their 4 children: Caleb (21), Toby (20), Erich (13) and Kaileigh (11).
James was the sole provider for his family. With this devastation comes a substantial amount of sudden financial expenses his family simply does not have. My hopes for this page is to relieve some stress from my sister in-law and prepare her for medical bills, funeral expenses, and to help provide some income to help her get on her feet as she will be living a new normal. Any help big or small is appreciated. Please know that our family is grateful for your generosity.
Thank you for taking out the time to read this post. Please hug your loved ones a little longer today.
