Kidney transplant surgery and recovery
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Holly. Jennifer and I have been best friends since high school. She is donating her kidney to her good friend Jerry.
From co-workers to friends to sharing kidneys -
Jerry has a genetic disease of the kidneys called polycystic kidney disease and as is currently on dialysis for nine hours a night to remove water and waste from his blood, a critical function his kidneys should provide but no longer can. This takes a huge toll on Jerry physically and emotionally, yet he still shows up to work every day at the post office (USPS) to deliver the mail.
Jerry needs a kidney transplant and remarkably he met Jennifer, a co-worker at USPS and became fast friends. Such good friends, in fact, that Jennifer offered to be evaluated as a kidney donor and found they are a perfect match. Jennifer is offering the gift of life to Jerry by donating a kidney, the surgery is scheduled for mid-January.
Since both Jennifer and Jerry work at the USPS neither will receive any pay or income during the post-op recovery period. They are in need of assistance to help with living expenses while recovering from this major surgery.
- I will be appreciative of any donations made to help my friends on this transplant journey.
It would be appreciated if you share this so there is more opportunity to reach this goal so they aren’t worried about finances during their recovery time.
