Meet Claudia: a 29 year-old with stage 4 cancer!
A sister, daughter, nurse and, most recently, superhero! A superhero
who has fought one of the worst villains around –cancer. She battled through tests, diagnoses, chemotherapy and surgery and came out of it even stronger. She is still full of positivity, appreciates every day and wants to share her experience as a cancer patient with other women that have had or that have various forms of breast cancer.
But let’s start from the beginning…
Claudia never imagined that she would be diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 28. A typically healthy young woman with big dreams, she had an underarm lump misdiagnosed as a cyst at 27, and found herself unexpectedly with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 28. She is now approaching her 29th birthday with stage 4 cancer.
Claudia’s breast cancer has spread to her spine. The first emotions: shock, disbelief, and the feeling of doom …but somehow she rebuilt her strength; she is now optimistic with a great outlook on life. She is responding well to her current alternative medicine treatments.
Alternative medicine has played a large role in Claudia’s ability to manage her illness. Unfortunately, these treatments do not come without their costs and have been very taxing as she is currently on a medical leave of absence and is not earning any income.
The past year of her life has been a long and tiring journey and we are sharing her story today with the hope that we can help raise funds for her to be able to continue receiving alternative therapy treatments, so she can get back to a normal life and continue her career helping others.
