A Better Home

Two years ago, I was homeless. I was finally able to move into my current apartment a year-and-a-half ago, and I was very grateful. Since that time, though, the office has gone through over a half-dozen management changes, and we are currently in between managers. My apartment is no bigger than a standard motel room (not HOTEL, but MOTEL; it is 296 sq. ft.).
I recently discovered the apartment complex right across the street has apartments for the same price that are more than DOUBLE the size of this one. I would actually have a bedroom with a door on it, and two windows for ventilation.
The problem is, I am on a fixed income and coming up with the deposit and the first month's rent is almost impossible unless I save up for another couple of years. Meanwhile, every time we lose a manager we are unable to get our mail or any other deliveries (UPS, etc.) because our complex is literally under lock and key. Without someone in the office, no one can get in the walk-in gate unless they know one of the residents or happen to get here right when someone is coming in.
The complex across the street is completely open and has none of the problems this complex has.
My lease here is up this spring, and I would really love to be able to move at that time.
