Cargo's Christmas for the less fortunate

Donation protected
Now in the ninth year, Cargo and Berth is hosting Christmas Day brunch again, feeding approximately 500 of Melbourne’s less fortunate this year. With the current economic climate quite tough for many, Christmas is about giving back to the less fortunate and providing those in need with a special festive cheer.

The event brings together the Cargo and Berth team, family and friends, a number of suppliers, and the Salvation Army that make the day happen. We continue to have more and more people wanting to get on board to support the cause.

We are seeking donations to help raise money for survival sacks put together by our team and partners. A survival sack is filled with simple necessities such as food, soap and a toothbrush. The sacks are given to our guests on Christmas day. Any leftover contributions are donated to the wider community living on the streets throughout the year.

Each hamper costs us $10 to put together. We hope to make over 500 hampers for the day. How many hampers would you like to purchase for the homeless for Christmas? For $50, you can make the difference to 5 people and spread the Christmas joy.

Thank you to all our customers and suppliers that have contributed to this cause over the years. We hope you get the opportunity to do so again.

We wish everyone a safe Christmas and amazing New Year, from the Bergo team.
