Ollie needs surgery
Donation protected
Hi there. As everyone probably knows, I got a puppy in January this year. His name is Ollie and I cannot begin to describe the amount of joy he’s brought into my life since then. He loves rooting around in the mud and coming back completely black. He sometimes surprises himself when he farts. He’s super clingy and will never leave my side when I’m home, especially when I’m cooking because he knows I accidentally (and sometimes purposely) drop food on the floor.
Recently, I found out that Ollie needs to have surgery to remove a cyst/tumour from his face.
I found it in April while I was playing with him. I took him to the vet the next day, but they couldn’t figure out what it was. Fast forward to now, I’ve had to take him for multiple vet visits, he’s had an X-ray and a biopsy done and he’s been on two courses of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. The whole ordeal has cost me about $2200 in total so far.
Upon receiving the results from the biopsy and X-ray, the vet referred Ollie on to a dental specialist. The specialist has said that he would like to do a CT scan and then proceed with the surgery. The treatment will come up to $4500-$5500.
Considering how he’s not even a year old, I’ve been struggling with the unexpected additional costs as having such a major surgery is uncommon in puppies this young.
I’m not used to asking for help. But I’m afraid that this might be too much for me to handle on my own. My parents are more than willing to help me, but considering how they have their own financial stresses to take care of due to the strain of the coronavirus, I’d prefer to find other options. I’m asking for any help that you can spare at the moment, whether it’s a donation or sharing the link to this page or a simple prayer to help us get through this. Ollie and I will be eternally grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a blessed day.
