Lidia Vargas - Pancreatic Cancer

As many of you know, Lidia Vargas, our colleague, friend and, to some of us, a second mom, is going through a very challenging time in her life. She is fighting an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer which has started to spread to her liver. I say fighting because Lidia is the Rock of Gibraltar.  Her positive attitude has given her family much strength and her strength and faith is what has gotten her through this ordeal. She doesn’t really question why. Lidia’s smile and laughter communicates why there’s no real reason to complain and why she places God above all. Her faith moves mountains. This type of cancer is often detected late and spreads rapidly. Lidia was only diagnosed in August of this year and has had a few setbacks, but with the care of the doctors and nurses, she continues to beat the odds and is working on regaining her strength. Her doctors are managing her care as aggressively as her body will allow and we are all optimistic and full of hope. Please help her in her time of need.  As you may imagine, her medical and household expenses are accumulating daily.

A little bit about Lidia. Lidia is the kind of person who doesn't know how to tell a lie! She would literally give the shirt off her back to anyone.  She was the President of the Damas Católicas for years where she cooked, decorated, mentored, fund raised, simply listened, coordinated events and gave countless children and those less fortunate a helping hand by donating, not only time but bibles, clothes, cribs, diapers, blankets, food and even provided a car when the need arose or gave away their older cars to those in need.
