Most have looked at the crisis in Myanmar as a political crisis, failing to recognize the urgency to protect the lives of the victims: human beings. The military seizure of power does pose a threat to human rights, but more gruesomely, it is endangering the lives of mere civilians.
The real leaders, ones who have for years tried protecting Burmese people from military oppression, are detained. No effective interventions have been made by any powerful ally. While international organizations work slowly to approach the crisis, more and more lives are lost. It is all up to us.
