Donations for Kristie's End of Life Hospice Care

Hello Family and Friends, Tia, Wendy, and Jeana here. My family is in great need of your support and prayers. My mother, Kristie Hurd has terminal stage 4 colorectal cancer that has metastasized to her liver and spleen. Over the past few months, her illness has declined to the point that she has been approved for hospice. She is surviving financially on what little benefits she receives from social security. Medicare only covers home hospice and she’s at the point where she needs 24/7 care. Hospice can come at most once a day, leaving the other 23 hours needing to be covered.

We are not sure how long she has left. Without us, we will have to hire care. Since we all have no medical or nursing experience and have full-time lives and her grandson, Micah, to take care of, we need to pay for additional medical care out of pocket.

I have never started a go fund me so I’m not sure of all the right things to say here but, if you can help that would be awesome. If you can’t, that’s awesome too and we appreciate your prayers…

We will make it work, but we know it takes a village.

It’s always been just the 4 of us and our pride and joy, Micah. Right down to the end.  I am hoping that with your generous donations she will be able to do a few things on her wish list with her family before her passing, help ease the costs of her hospice care, and allow her to pass into heaven with peace and dignity.

For those of you who know our mother, know that she has a huge heart and a love for others and for God. She suffered extreme loss at a very young age and persevered, raising three daughters and a grandson Micah on her own while remaining humble, positive, and a true blessing to all who know and love her.
