Team Cromar: Support The Cromar Family
Donation protected
In late December 2019, Lyn was diagnosed with Stage 2B Breast Cancer, with grade 3 growth. This highly aggressive breast cancer requires immediate chemo treatment, which starts in early January.
The Cromar family will need significant support during this time. Lyn is the primary caretaker of their daughter, while also being self-employed. All sorts of things will be turned upside down. There will be an increased need childcare help (with providers experienced with special needs children), more resources for food and gas, helping with medical bills, tests and so many unknowns.
Affectionately, Lyn is often called "Little Miss Side Effect" due to her poor tolerance of medicine. The oncology team is planning ahead for this reality, but toxic medicine for a person who has side effects to Tylenol could potentially be debilitating. She has been told to expect serious side effects. The loss of meaningful income from Lyn, providing normalcy and stability for a special needs child, and increased expenses will be very difficult to manage.
If you have know the Cromars for decades, or years, or month, you'd know that Lyn sincerely leads with joy, kindness and generosity. Brian constantly helps with a smile and is a master of knowing how countless couches will fit through tight doorways, and Little Cromar has extraordinary potential to make the world a much better place.
Frugal living and a quest for snowy adventure are vital to the Cromars. In many ways, skiing is a family meditative and spiritual experience. However, winter sports are a hard-fought luxury in an otherwise very frugal life. With emergency savings accounts being depleted within the last few weeks, the life boat is taking on water, fast.
If you donate, and then see a photo of a couple Cromars in knee-deep powder, know that you are providing stability and normalcy in a topsy-turvy time. Hero badge unlocked!
