Help Support the Johnson Family

My dad, Todd Johnson,  is a 45 year old,  Antrim County Sherrif’s Department Deputy/Courthouse Security Supervisor.  He has worked for Antrim County for the past 14 years.  He is a beloved husband to Shannon and loving  father to myself and my brothers and sisters, Brandon (20), Riley (13), Olivia (12), Chase (10) and Ronan (9). He is also a loving grandpa to Braylee and Hunter.   In 2008, after suffering a bout of severe pneumonia,  Todd was diagnosed with Primary Immunodeficiency Disease (PIDD), basically his body does not fight off infections like the average person.  In addition to the immunodeficiency, he suffers from auto-immune issues as well,  This link goes into detail surrounding his disease. http://www.aaaai.org/conditions-and-treatments/primary-immunodeficiency-disease.aspx As a result of these chronic illnesses his body can't fight infections and attacks itself resulting in chronic pain and fatigue.  Through the last 6 years he has managed to remain positive and keep a smile on his face, when many would give up.

At the time of his diagnosis, he started having monthly infusions to boost his immune system.  Eventually the treatments went to every 3 weeks and as of last month, have gone to weekly infusions at home. These reduce the number of infections/illnesses for a person with PIDD.  The insurance company will no longer pay for treatment in an infusion center.  So far he has been lucky that insurance has covered these costs.  However, as of June 10 of this year he was stricken with an infection that made him unable to work and as of Monday he was diagnosed with shingles.  He has received one small payment from short-term disability and at this point his Doctors are unknowning when or even if he will be able to return to work.  His insurance coverage from work will end shortly and he will end up transferring to his wife’s insurance which only covers a portion of these appointments and infusions.  Sadly, there is no cure for this disease and the older you get the worse it gets.

This fund would assist my dad and his family in covering the costs of any uncovered medical expenses, household bills, the cost of having to travel to various appointments and potentially to Cleveland Clinic for a up to a week or more.  My Dad provides half the income to the family.  This loss of wages has been devestating to my dad and Shannon.

My dad and his family are generally not comfortable being on the 'receiving end' of others' generosity. So on their behalf I am asking you to consider donating to their cause.  Anything is appreciated.

Love,
Brittany
