Marley's Emergency Care

I ask you for help in saving Marley's life.  What we have gone through in the past 48 hours could happen to any pet owner.   Throughout my life, I have given all of the money and time that I can to animal rescues.  Now Marley and I turn to the rescue community for help. 

Marley will be five-years-old in October.  She came to my home as a foster placement with Pei People Shar-Pei rescue four years ago.  She is sweet and loving and my faithful companion.  I couldn't ask for a greater blessing than her.  

Now she is close to death.  This could happen to any pet owner.  In 48 hours, Marley went from an allergic reaction to ant bites, to sepsis.  

On Wednesday, she was quiet and I noticed the rash on her belly.  I immediately took her to the vet.  They gave her antibiotics and medicine for her low appetite.  

She wasn't better the next morning.  She saw our regular vet that afternoon and he suggested we let the antibiotics do their work. 

I knew something was wrong and, that night, I took her back to the hospital.  As we waited for the tests to come back, she was getting worse.  

Now she's admitted to Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic.  She is being treated for the infection, kidney failure, and possible liver damage.  

Two days of intensive care have cost $2000.  I spent $480 on her the first night.   Her after care will easily exceed another $2500.

Despite being careful and assertive about my pet's care, despite going back to the hospital when I knew something wasn't right, Marley is worse.  Sepsis can sneak up like this -- a simple rash became deadly in hours.  

Please help us.  I have never asked for help like this before, but Marley's bills are going to be substantial.  Meanwhile, I run a small business with several employees -- I don't have margins for these kinds of bills.  I don't know many people who do.
