Restore Hope for the Cardenas Family after House Fire

On Christmas Eve, my family’s world was turned upside down in an instant. What should have been a night of joy and togetherness, full of laughter and love, quickly became a nightmare. We finished dinner at my parent's home and were enjoying the evening when we received a call from a friend/neighbor that the house we live in - was on fire.

We drove home and quickly realized our belongings, memories, and the place we called home—was gone. We are so very grateful that we were visiting family. The fire consumed the room where the children would likely have been sleeping.

Now, I’m reaching out to kind-hearted people who can help. We are grateful that we will likely be able to recover bed frames, dressers and some clothes. We will focus on finding housing, hopefully in the same school district, and covering the cost of emergency housing.

As a mother, it breaks my heart to see my babies go through this. Their Christmas did not turn out the way we planned, and while material things can be replaced, I worry about making sure they feel safe and secure. But I have hope that by reaching out, we can find a new home and get the kids back to school routines soon.
