Keenan's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
August 9th 2023, is a day that I will never forget. A very close friend of mine was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He was ran off the road and the driver never stopped. Thankfully, a witness of the accident stopped to help him and stayed until the police and EMS arrived. He was airlifted to Cooper University Trauma Center. Almost a week later, Keenan is still in the hospital with multiple injuries. He has a broken shoulder, broken jaw, broken ribs, a broken neck, lacerations and road rash. Surgery was attempted on his neck but stopped due to respiratory issues. The doctors have now opted to place him in a Halo Vest Immobilizer. The Halo will limit any head and neck movement and allow his neck to try to heal on its own. This will be a long, slow process and if unsuccessful, surgery still may be required with potential risks of paralysis.
Keenan is a giver and is there for everyone, always checking in and offering help in any way he can. With that being said, he’s not the one who would ever ask for help but we know he's going to need it.
Before this unfortunate event, he had taken a significant step and bought a house and takes pride in being a new homeowner. Keenan’s road to recovery will be challenging with many unknowns. At this moment all we know is he will be out of work for months if not a year. Our hopes are to ensure that he can focus solely on healing and help offset additional stresses. No contribution is too small and every act of kindness will make a difference.
Share this widely and let us show Keenan that he has an army and thank you for joining us in this collective effort.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers, wishing for a speedy recovery
